History of a Trident
The 450S is one of the most important cars in Maserati's long and rich racing history. The 450S was the first to have a V8 engine. An engine that would become one of Maserati's greatest. The 450S was raced by such legendary drivers as Sir Stirling Moss and Juan Manuel Fangio. From 1956 to 1962, the Maserati 450S had 119 race appearances, 31 of these were race victories. In total only 9 such cars were produced from 1956 to 1958. Making the 450S a car of great rarity and highly sought after by collectors.
The picture you see to the right is one of our 450S Reborn cars finished in the paint scheme of chassis Nº4508. A car that Fangio was supposed to drive during the Cuban GP of 1958. However Juan Manuel Fangio was kidnapped prior to the race. Because of this M. Trintignant drove it instead, finishing in 11º position.
