A true icon in automobile racing, the mighty Mille Miglia winning Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR. Driven to victory by such legendary racing drivers as Sir Stirling Moss and the great Juan Manuel Fangio. The 300 SLR is regarded as one of the most important Mercedes-Benz racing cars of all time and of that era. It is most famous for its victory at the 1955 Mille Miglia being driven by Stirling Moss. Not only Moss won the race, but he set the Mille Miglia's fastest record at an average speed of 157.650km/h or (97.96mph) over 1,600km or (990mi). Moss in 300 SLR number 722 finished 32 minutes in front of their second-placed teammate, Juan Manuel Fangio also driving another 300 SLR number 658. It is because of the cars great racing success, that the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR became such a legend in the world of motorsport.
