the 27 Liter Rolls-Royce V12 Merlin/Meteor.
One of the greatest and most legendary aero engines of all time the Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 and it's land based version the Meteor. An engine that can trace its lineage all the way back to the Rolls-Royce R
aero engines of the late 1920's, powering the Schneider Trophy racing planes like the iconic Supermarine S.6. Now this 27 Liter V12 marvel of engineering that once power Spitfire fighter aircraft and as the Meteor tanks, it is now fitted to power this timeless one-of-a-kind Rolls-Royce.
Creating the Merlin/Meteor 27 Liter Roadster, starts with the preparation of the original pre-war or post-war Rolls Royce chassis of choice. Fitting the chassis with required modifications for the 27 Liter V12 engine including improved cooling systems, engine mounts, suspension and automatic gearbox. After the chassis is ready it is on to the coachbuilding! This is where skilled artisans handform the aluminum coachwork and craft the wooden body sections in a similar way to that of constructing the woodwork of a classic motoryacht.
Retro Coachbuilders Merlin/Meteor 27 Liter Roadster was envisioned and designed by Christopher Alexander Rodrigues, taking inspiration from aviation, yachts and streamlined coachwork from the era of Art Deco. Complete with frameless windscreen, mixed aluminum/wood coachwork, Woodlite headlights, an aircraft inspired intake below the Rolls-Royce radiator shell for oil cooling, side air vents and a styled triple triangle dual-side exhaust. The bespoke interior is
completely customized with the finest leathers, wood burls, trim and dashboard instruments. All of this to create the most exquisite motorcar for you!
